Tom Bosley Dies At 83

Hit TV show "Happy Days" loses one it's cast members, Tom Bosley

Tom Bosley, who played the dad and the mild manner hardware store owner on “Happy Days”, has passed away at the age of 83. He had been fighting lung cancer for some time, but died of heart failure at a hospital near his home in Palm Springs, California.

Bosley is primarily know for his role on “Happy Days” which aired for 10 years. He also starred in “Father Dowling Mysteries” and “Murder She Wrote”.

The co-stars are saddened by his loss. Even though they were a make believe family for 10 years, they became a real family for the last 30 years, Henry Winkler said of the cast. Winkler was shocked by his death. The last time they spoke, Winkler thought he was getting his strength back.

Ron Howard, who played Bosley’s son on “Happy Days”, recalled his last conversation with Bosely. He said that Tom reflected his love of life. It was an attitude that he always maintained throughout his life. Howard said, “I already miss him.”

This death comes just days after the death of another TV parent, Barbara Billingsly, who played June Cleaver on “Leave it to Beaver”.

Bosley is survived by his second wife, Patricia Car and one daughter, Amy.
