Rapper T.I., born Clifford Harris, Jr., is headed back to prison after being arrested for drug possession. He was on probation after being convicted and sent to jail in 2008 for a weapons charge. T.I. begged the judge to allow him to go to rehab instead, but the judge chose to send him back to prison for 11 months.

In 2007, he was arrested for weapons charges and was facing up to 30 years in prison. The judge at the time gave him 10 months behind bars, then probation. To say he got off good, is an understatement. While on probation he was not allowed to commit any state or federal crimes and he was not allowed to carry or use any controlled substance. He was also ordered to complete 1,000 hours of community service. He would get his hours by speaking to groups of kids warning them of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. T.I. was always praised for his work with the youth.

To make sure he was following through with his probation, he was also ordered to take three drug tests after he was released from prison and was required to enter a drug and alcohol rehab center.

T.I. was pulled over by police for a basic traffic violation in early September. It was at that time that the cops discovered drugs in his car. He later admitted to the cops that he had used ecstasy a few times and that his urine samples had been diluted.

When T.I. began begging Judge Pannell to not send him to jail, the judge was not sympathetic. “I think Mr. Harris has had about the limit of second chances,” said Judge Pannell.

The judge’s decision comes just days after T.I. talked a man out of jumping from a building in downtown Atlanta.
