Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce in a Tennessee court, from his wife, Tish, of 17 years back on October 26. On November 10th, he made his first public appearance, since the announcement, at the 44th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville.
Even though the news is out, it’s still not safe to ask Cyrus about his pending divorce. Just ask Woody Johnson.
On Friday Cyrus was doing a radio interview on “Woody and the Wake Up Call” with Woody Johnson, when Johnson asked him about his divorce, only because of his celebrity status.
“I have to ask you because you are a celebrity and we’ve all heard,” Johnson said. “Your marriage is going?”
Cyrus became instantly flustered and cut the interview short and stormed off.
Johnson tried to apologize and get Cyrus to stay for more of the interview, but Cyrus would not have it. Off mic as Cyrus was still fuming from the question, he simply stated “It’s very rude.”
Rumors are that he filed for divorce after learning of his wife’s affair with Brett Michaels. Although both Tish’s and Michael’s reps deny any truth to those rumors.
Miley Cyrus is understandably upset about this. The separated couple do plan to come together though, on November 26 for Miley’s 18th birthday.
