Analysts and tech experts are already speculating on the next iteration of the Apple iPad citing signs in the supply chain as the signals an updated device is in the works. Apple has sold over 7.5 million iPads through the end of September with another 6 million anticipated to sell before the end of the year in 2010. Apple has effectively carved out a new niche in the tablet computing space.

Experts generally agree that the next generation of the iPad, referred to as the iPad 2 by many, will come in April on a yearly schedule similar to how Apple has approached iPhone upgrades.

What features the new iPad could contain are all over the boards. Most agree that dual camera functionality will be included however. One web site, Rapid Repair, that tore down an iPad early on claims that room was left in the device for both cameras. Even a hole in the glass for the lens to fit in was found.

Beyond that, speculation about a thinner form factor, higher resolution display, more memory and compatibility with other cellular networks is running rampant.

One thing is for sure, Apple should be a hot commodity yet again in 2011. A Verizon compatible version of the iPhone is expected to be released in the U.S. in March, setting the stage for 2011 being a year of Apple product successes.
